Sifu Warren

In the summer of 1981, Sifu Garreth Warren began studying the art of Sil Lum (Shaolin) Hung Gar with masters Bun Hong & his brother Kin Hong ath the Hong Kung Fu club in Montreal, Quebec. ON February 28, 1991, Sifu Warren received his Black Sash (Belt) and became a student instructor under the watchful eyes of Masters Bun & Kin Hong.

October 1996, sifu warren moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he opened the Five Animal Kung Fu school and began teaching the art of Sil Lum Hung Gar Kung Fu to men, women and children who were interested in learning this traditional Chinese Martial Arts of Kung Fu. Five Animal Kung Fu School quickly gained the reputation of being a place where the student only advance to the next level beased on they hard work they put into their training. Not based on how many classes they attend. It was also a place where everyone were treated as a family.

In February, 2016, Sifu Warren moved to Calgary, Alberta. After taking 2 years off from teaching, Sifu Warren realized that there was a big hole missing in his life. That hole, was teaching. Passing on his knowledge to others. In Janruary, 2018, almost 2 full years since leaving Halifax, Sifu Warren decided it was time to get back to what he truly loved doing in life. That love is helping others and spreading the many benifits of Sil Lum Hung Gar (Five Animal Kung Fu) to anyone in Calgary willing to learn and use the knowledge gained for positive reasons. He re-opened Five Animal Kung Fu and began teaching two evenings a week.

The word P.E.A.C.E is something that’s very dear to Sifu Warren. He came up with this Acronym in February 1998.
P.E.A.C.E. (P)eople (E)verywhere (A)re (C)reated (E)qually. PEACE. A word to live by!
